The Atam team

The ATAM team consists of about 100 people in the headquarters alone. Here, established expertise and new perspectives come together in a continuous exchange. The experience gained over time and knowledge are shared and merged with new ideas and skills. This fusion leads to a common vision, constantly enriched and innovated by the ideas and perspectives of all team members.
We believe in the value of teamwork and knowledge sharing: the exchange of different experiences and viewpoints drives our growth, allowing us to evolve together and build ATAM’s future with energy and openness to new opportunities.

Umberto Colombo

President

Carrying the distinctive traits of the Colombo family—a dynamic mind, tireless spirit, and meticulous attention to detail in pursuit of perfection—Umberto leaves a unique mark on everything he does.

Having been exposed to an entrepreneurial environment since childhood, he began working at ATAM as a young man alongside his father and founder Adriano and his brother Stefano. His creativity, combined with his immense passion and determination, helped him support ATAM’s growth by taking on various corporate roles until becoming its President.
Today, he holds top positions in all the family’s enterprises.

Umberto also finds time to dedicate to another of his great passions: the evolution of technology and industrial styling, expressed through his collections of vintage cars, motorcycles, and objects. It’s not uncommon to see him at vintage car and motorcycle gatherings or antique markets.

Andrea Ciceri

Chief Executive Officer

Andrea has built a diverse career that began in design and industrialization, gaining experience in medium and large industrial companies. Throughout his journey, he has firmly believed that a company’s true strength lies in its people.
He started as a young designer at an industrial textile machinery company, honing his precision mechanics skills. He later joined an American multinational in the power tools sector as a project leader, where he learned the value of teamwork and collective motivation.
His passion for engines led him to become head of special projects at a leading company in motorcycle transmission systems, where he promoted continuous innovation and collaborated on technology transfer to Asian joint ventures.
In 1999, Andrea joined ATAM for the first time, drawn by founder Adriano Colombo’s vision. Here, his drive for innovation found fertile ground, allowing him to gain a comprehensive understanding of business management. After a stint at a multinational in the home appliance sector, where he focused on innovation and technology transfer, he returned to ATAM in 2007. He championed Stefano Colombo’s futuristic vision, managing technological transformation, Industry 4.0 industrialization, and the company’s internationalization.

Andrea has held increasing responsibilities in operations, working closely with marketing and sales, ultimately leading to his current role as CEO. He continues to pursue excellence and growth, firmly believing that every success stems from shared passion, collective commitment, and active listening.
Outside of work, he enjoys motorsports and trekking with his wife, reflecting on how every heartfelt action leaves an indelible mark—just like his story at ATAM: a journey of passion and growth.

Giovanni Madeo

Plant Manager

If there’s one person who embodies ATAM’s spirit of transformation, it’s Giovanni Madeo.
After completing his military service, Giovanni moved north for love and began working in the logistics sector for Compact Hydraulics in Modena.
Since 1991, his life journey has intertwined with ATAM’s, embracing every transformation with enthusiasm.
Within the company, he has gained diverse experience: from order entry to accounting, from production scheduling to purchasing. Giovanni believes change is the driving force of growth, enabling him to face any challenge with passion and interest.
With his infectious enthusiasm, he played a key role in transitioning from traditional, manual management to full automation and process digitization. What Giovanni loves most is change itself: every innovation is an opportunity to grow and improve the company. Among his most significant achievements, he fondly recalls introducing more women into production, reflecting his desire to make ATAM increasingly inclusive and forward-thinking.
Today, as Plant Manager, Giovanni is the reference point for ensuring the efficiency of all production resources. Despite the complexity of his role, he never loses his smile. With his contagious energy and positive approach, he turns problems into solutions and serves as a solid, inspiring leader for everyone.
His family and personal relationships are his anchor, as is his beloved Calabria, where he returns whenever he can.

Umberto Corti

Technical Director

From the start of his career in energy-sector design, Umberto has worked with fuels.
At prestigious multinational companies, he initially designed fuel dispensers and gas meters before moving on to combustion systems for a variety of applications.
He worked on major and diverse projects worldwide in potentially explosive environments (ATEX), requiring thorough contextual analysis and a pragmatic, efficient approach.

His experience in manufacturing-focused multinationals allowed him to transform ideas into tangible products. This is what motivates him most: seeing the results of his work come to life. When company policies gradually stifled this creative drive, he decided to change direction and joined ATAM in 2017.
In a smaller, more agile, and flexible environment, Umberto rediscovered the joy of seeing ideas take tangible form, with immediate impact on production.
He understands that every product, no matter how simple, contains hidden complexities that should never be underestimated. This insight drives the attention to detail and precision that characterize his work. As Technical Director at ATAM, he is distinguished by his focus on process optimization, his quick operational and strategic thinking, and his ability to anticipate needs.
He believes in the importance of passing on experience to younger generations, ensuring that the operational details and valuable trade secrets of the profession are preserved as unique resources for any manufacturing company.

Outside the workplace, Umberto devotes his time to his family, which he considers a fundamental value. He loves spending days at the beach with his loved ones, swimming to recharge his energy.

Stefano Belloni

IT Manager

A curious and dynamic IT analyst/programmer, Stefano began his career in 1988 at an innovative software house in the Varese area, during a time when personal computers were still futuristic.
He experienced the technological race of those years, when the push toward digitalization became increasingly decisive for companies.
His career evolved just as quickly, progressing from programmer to software development manager and eventually becoming a partner. He worked for prominent companies, including ATAM, a client he considered special for its forward-looking vision. The relationship became so strong that joining the company eventually felt like a natural choice.

Alongside Stefano Colombo, then ATAM’s President, Stefano played a central role in the company’s digital transformation, developing a proprietary management software system from scratch. This wasn’t just a tool but a representation of the company’s philosophy: the software wasn’t designed for the company to adapt to it, but rather to shape itself around the company, improving processes while respecting its unique characteristics.
At ATAM, Stefano fully expresses the practical and versatile aspects of his profession. Both in offices and on the production floor, he develops concrete solutions to support the organization and his colleagues, with whom he frequently collaborates. Today, he knows that technological innovation is no longer optional but essential. To avoid being overwhelmed by change, one must anticipate it and direct it to benefit the company.

Outside of work, Stefano balances his life with friends, dinners, sports, and nature. His energy makes him a dynamic figure both inside and outside the company.

Antonio Cantoni

Sales & Marketing Director

Antonio Cantoni’s journey with ATAM began in March 2016, but his connection to the company goes back over 30 years. Before joining the team, he gained extensive experience in both technical and commercial roles, making him a highly versatile and multifaceted professional. Antonio has worked in the fields of solenoid valves and industrial connectors with industry leaders.
After a period spent in the renewable energy sector with significant operational responsibilities, he accepted the proposal to join ATAM.

The continuous product evolution, the endless applicability of the components, and the company’s focus on special projects were aspects that fascinated him from the start and that he enjoys conveying to clients.
For Antonio, ATAM’s strength lies in its structure: a lean, human-scale organization managed with rigorous procedures that make work easier and support the sales team. “It’s a pleasure to sell for ATAM,” he says, because the quality of its components and production processes minimizes issues, turning sales into genuine collaboration with clients.
He believes that, in ATAM, everyone can make a significant impact on the company’s progress. Objectives are well-defined and shared through ongoing discussions among team members.
With his dynamic and energetic personality, active listening skills, and clear communication, Antonio naturally builds authentic relationships with clients, who value his pragmatic and reliable approach.

He firmly believes in the power of relationships and transparency, which make him a trustworthy and objective partner for ATAM’s clients. A sportsman at heart, Antonio brings the same determination to his work, driving ATAM toward new markets with enthusiasm. He is a passionate advocate of the company’s highly customizable coils and the vast opportunities offered by the industrial connector sector.

Emiliano Riva

Purchasing Manager

Emiliano Riva has turned the pursuit of quality and continuous improvement into a personal mindset that he applies both at work and in life. He began his career in the Quality sector at a leading company specializing in plastic molding and mold construction. During this phase, Emiliano honed meticulous attention to detail and a precision-driven approach, traits that continue to define him.
His career further expanded when he entered the metallurgical sector, where he developed a deep understanding of production dynamics and the complexities of supply chain management. In 2010, Emiliano embraced a new challenge: the role of Purchasing Manager, an opportunity that allowed him to combine his technical expertise with strategic vision.
Since 2016, he has held this role at ATAM, where his commitment goes far beyond simply ensuring the best price-quality ratio. Emiliano works to ensure that every purchasing decision creates positive and tangible value for the company, improving daily operations throughout the supply chain and building reliable, collaborative relationships with partners.
He strongly believes in fostering solid relationships with stakeholders to achieve long-lasting win-win results. Understanding and delving into the realities of the companies he works with is essential for making informed, sustainable choices that generate tangible value.
Emiliano’s passion for precision is reflected in his personal life as well. A dedicated motorcycle enthusiast, he meticulously cares for every technical and mechanical detail of his bike. He also brings this same attention to the kitchen, where he loves experimenting with new recipes.

Marco Mauri

Quality Manager

Marco’s career began as a maintenance technician at a company specializing in electrical insulation, where he developed strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills that have stayed with him throughout his life. He later moved into the elevator industry, working in a cutting-edge environment with certifications, which provided him the opportunity to attend his first courses on safety management—a theme that would become central to his professional path.
After gaining experience at a company producing stamped components for the electrical sector, Marco had his first encounter with ATAM. In 1999, he assumed the role of Quality Manager, deepening his knowledge in the electromechanical field.

His curiosity and desire to challenge himself led him to a new adventure outside ATAM, managing Quality, Safety, and Environmental Systems at a leading company in heating and cooling. Despite this new direction, Marco maintained a strong connection with ATAM, built on mutual respect and trust.
This connection brought him back to ATAM in 2014, where he became the company’s key reference for managing Quality, Safety, and Environmental processes. Balancing innovation with reliability, Marco’s goal is to continually improve processes, believing that true change arises from collaboration and a collective willingness to grow.

His ability to interact respectfully and effectively across all levels of the organization, working collaboratively to support colleagues, reflects his understanding of Quality: not just as a technical matter, but as a guiding value that drives daily activities and creates a positive, lasting impact.
Outside the office, Marco’s dedication to continuous improvement is evident in his passion for home improvement projects, where he enthusiastically applies his skills to ambitious DIY tasks.
